SCC Alternative Education Providers Training

We are developing the safeguarding children training for Sheffield City Council supported Alternative Education Providers (SCC AEP's). There are two documents to help your understanding and recording for this training:

  • Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training:

We are now running face-to-face 'basic' training for SCC Alternative Education Providers through Sheaf Training and Sheffield Inclusion Centre. This training will be a half-day course and is required for all staff who have regular contact with children and young people, every 3 years.

The next training will be:

Wed 4th Sept 2019 9am to 12:15pm Sheaf Training, Norwood Drive, S5 7BH
Wed 4th Sept 2019 12:45pm to 4pm Sheaf Training, Norwood Drive, S5 7BH

  • Advanced Initial/Refresher Safeguarding Children in Education Training:

Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies (DSL/D's) with the SCC AEP's should continue to book places on the courses at Moorfoot which run for all education settings including schools and colleges, for more information follow this link: Training for Education Settings

  • Online-Safety Coordinators (SCC AEP's) Training:

There will be a one-day bespoke course for the SCSP required Online-Safety Coordinator role for all SCC AP's for 2019-20. This date will be published here as soon as it is finalised and your DSL will be emailed.

  • Prevent Training:

The e-learning training course: ‘Understanding Pathways to Extremism and the Prevent Programme’ is suitable for the Senior Manager, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputies in SCC Alternative Education Provider settings. The course is free and can be done at any time by 'self registering' through Virtual College. The link to do this is here: https://sheffieldscb.safeguardingchildrenea.co.uk/
