Bereavement

Children & young people will deal with unexpected and unwelcome change in many different ways.  Talking with children about death is always uncomfortable and can be more difficult when children have special educational needs or disabilities.

We also need to think about the emotional resilience of staff and other adults who may be offering support.  They may also be touched by the bereavement or it may remind them of other personal or professional traumas.

“The festive season can be joyful for many, but when you’re grieving, it can bring mixed emotions and worries about how to get through the “season of cheer”. However you’re feeling, you’re not alone.

Compassionate Sheffield are facilitating an online workshop, with 3 dates available, called “Grief During the Festive Season – A Peer Support Workshop” which you’re warmly welcome to join.

“Together, we’ll explore gentle ways to care for ourselves, make space for grief, and stay connected to those we’ve lost. This is a supportive space to share our thoughts, listen to others, and gather ideas for navigating the festive season while grieving.”

You can find more information, read feedback from previous attendees, access supportive resources and book your place via www.compassionate-sheffield.co.uk/festive-season-grief-workshop”
