Mental Ill-Health

Where a child or adult member of any family has mental health issues, this may impact on the household and might involve child or adult protection issues. All agencies and services for adults and children must work together to ensure that in particular, the voice of the child is heard.

Parental Mental Health Task Group:

In April 2018 the Sheffield Children Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) and Sheffield Health and Social Care Service (SHSC) established a parental mental health task group involving all the key partner agencies. The main aim was to improve multi-agency working with families where there was mental ill health within the household. Workshops and a joint case review have been conducted with adult and children's services.  The resulting learning brief is below.
