We are Recruiting: Independent Chair and Scrutineer to the SCSP/SASP
Independent Chair and Scrutineer (ICS):
Sheffield Children Safeguarding Partnership & Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership:
Sheffield is seeking a highly effective ICS for our Local Safeguarding Partnerships, who has proven experience at a senior level including in partnership settings, and a good operational and strategic understanding of the safeguarding agenda for adults and children. The successful candidate will provide independent leadership and strategic vision to both Partnerships, to continue the work to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk across the city, through good collaboration and effective partnership working between its members.
About Sheffield’s multi-agency safeguarding arrangements:
Although we continue to maintain separate adult and children’s partnerships there is significant overlap, commonality and in a number of key respects, a shared agenda. We are looking for one person with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to chair both partnerships. In July 2019, the new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements for LSCB’s were introduced in Sheffield as required by Working Together 2018. The Strategic Safeguarding Partners, Sheffield City Council, South Yorkshire Police and Sheffield CCG established a multi-agency partnership, with other relevant partners and a number of sub groups and task and finish groups commissioned by the Partnership to support the strategic plans. This was used as an opportunity to review both partnerships bringing increased joint working.
We now need an ICS with enthusiasm, commitment, and determination to drive forward Sheffield’s vision, build on and embed our strong partnerships to bring about transformational change to safeguarding arrangements in the city.
About the role:
This role plays an important part in supporting the strategic work of the two Safeguarding Partnerships working with the Safeguarding Partnership Manager and Business Units to provide independent scrutiny and ensure that our arrangements make a real difference to the safety and wellbeing of adults and children at risk.
If you are an experienced senior leader with an in-depth knowledge of safeguarding adults and children, and a clear commitment to work collaboratively with partners to drive the safeguarding agenda and improve outcomes for those at risk of abuse and/or neglect, we would like to hear from you.
