All of our face to face safeguarding children training has now been cancelled until further notice. Any updates to this will be posted here on the website. Emails have been sent to all staff who have booked places on our courses, at the email address that the applicant provided on their booking form.
The training pathway for all staff with regular contact with children and young people in education settings is:
- Face-to-Face Safeguarding Children Induction
- Safeguarding Children in Education e-learning
- Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training
Face-to-Face Safeguarding Children Induction:
This is required for all staff and volunteers, including clerical & business support, Heads, teachers, ancillary, support and pastoral staff.
It should be delivered face-to-face by the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Deputy (DSL/D) to individuals or groups, at the beginning of their employment.
The Safeguarding Children Induction Pack will be updated over summer 2019, and all Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies will be informed by email (please make sure your safeguarding team on Schoolpoint 365 is up to date).
This training does not replace the Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training.
Safeguarding Children in Education e-learning:
This free course is for staff and volunteers working in an education setting. It is a useful introduction to safeguarding but does not replace the Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training.
The course will take an estimated 2 hours and can be completed in sections.
The course considers key legislation, signs of abuse and neglect, safe working practices, concerns about a child or young person, and early intervention. It will also introduce some current issues including Child Sexual Exploitation, Female Genital Mutilation and Prevent.
