What it’s about
|
The briefing will focus on recent national and local guidance and developments in the arrangements for safeguarding children including:
- An update from Hannah Appleyard(LADO/ Prevent Co-ordinator) about her role in dealing with allegations against people in the children’s workforce or concerns about children being affected by radicalisation or extremism
- Feedback from recent Ofsted inspections
- Changes to statutory guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 and Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006
- Updated safeguarding resources and training to help implement safeguarding children requirements in your setting

Who can attend
|
The session is targeted at the manager or the Designated Safeguarding Lead/ Deputy in the setting.
We also welcome applications from registered childminders and other staff who provide advice and support to registered Early Years settings.
Due to the large number of settings we need to cover, attendance is limited to ONE place per setting
|

|

Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies in registered EY settings in Sheffield (including childminders)

Is there a deadline?
|
No, but places are filled on a first come first serve basis
|
Do they need to respond to it and if so how?
|
EY settings should review the safeguarding training needs of their designated safeguarding staff and book places as required.
