Staff Recruitment, Induction and Professional Development

Training and Professional Development:

The Sheffield Children Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) has an online booking system which will enable you to book a wide variety of safeguarding training courses.  There is a section where courses specifically for education settings are collated and most of these are specific to certain safeguarding roles.  The Professional Development Pathway (link above) explains this.  You will get the most accurate information about course content and availability for courses when you register/log-in.

Training information for schools and colleges:

Whole-setting Safeguarding Children in Education course (3 yearly) - a course for all staff in one setting.

Some training required by safeguarding staff in education settings is delivered elsewhere. To find out more, follow these links:

• Prevent:

  • Designated Safeguarding Leads & Deputies must complete the Leadership Prevent Briefing via Learn Sheffield

  • Other staff can complete the e-learning on Prevent or other appropriately sourced training
