Safeguarding Workshop - Domestic Abuse: Older People
Older people can, and do, experience domestic abuse, and the impacts can be as severe as those on people who are younger. Older people can be under represented in services, and as such may remain hidden victims.
This course covers:
- Older people as hidden victims
- The issues and effects of domestic abuse on older people
- The complexities older people may experience in abusive situations
- The challenges of working with an older group of victims and the importance of adopting a tailored approach
- What domestic abuse services exist in Sheffield, and how they can help.
This workshop is relevant to staff working with children and adults - #thinkfamily.
