Safeguarding Workshop - Recognising and Responding to Dental Neglect
Tooth decay is largely preventable, but it remains a serious problem that impacts on a child’s health and development. A child with dental decay is likely to suffer pain, require surgery, experience school absence and there are associated longer term health and social difficulties. Improving child dental health requires a whole systems approach with action across families, communities, and agencies.
This workshop will expand upon the harm associated with poor oral health. It will support attendees to recognise when intervention is required and provide guidance on how to support better oral health in families.
