Education Settings - Online Safety : A Whole School Approach (for staff new to the role)

KEY INFORMATION TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK

Online Safety in Schools and Colleges is the responsibility of the DSL.  The DSL may delegate the day-to-day leadership of Online Safety to fully trained DSD and that person is known as the Online Safety Coordinator.

Additionally, schools may delegate the Teaching & Learning leadership of online safety to an Online Safety Curriculum Coordinator.  This person must be supported in the role by a DSL/DSD who is also fully trained in Online Safety.

This course is for DSLs or DSDs who are new to the Online Safety Co-ordinator role.  They should have attended the New DSL/D and Online Safety Co-ordinator’s overview course unless they attended Advanced Initial DSL training in 2023-24 or 2024-25 or  the DSL Advanced Refresher training in 2023-24. Online Safety Curriculum Coordinators can only complete this course when accompanied by the DSL/D in their setting who is named as the Online Safety Co-ordinator.  An exception can be made to this on a school-by-school basis only if the DSL has attended this course in the last three years and this has been discussed and agreed with your Education Safeguarding Advisor.

The course is free for maintained schools and academies.  There is a charge for 'free' and 'independent' school staff attending.

You must be logged into your training account to see availability on all sessions.

Attendance must be prioritised.  Non-attendance without prior cancellation or agreement will be charged at £60.00 per session if it is not in line with our charging policy.

If for some reason you are no longer able to attend please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.  You can cancel the booking up to 7 days prior to the course date without incurring a charge by logging in to the booking system and clicking on 'My Account' in the top right hand side of the page.
