Education Settings - Basic Centralised Safeguarding Children in Education - SCC, Schools and Colleges
The Sheffield Children Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) requires staff to complete this training every 3 years.
Basic Centralised Safeguarding Children in Education - a half-day course run for staff in education settings who have regular contact with children and young people.
Each date has either a morning or an afternoon session to attend, i.e. 9.00am–12:15pm or 1.00pm–4.15pm.
Please note places on the Basic Centralised Safeguarding Children in Education courses will be prioritised for staff who are going to take on a role in the safeguarding team at their setting and need to complete this course as a priority before attending the Advanced Initial 2 day course. Staff will also be prioritised if they have not attended the basic safeguarding course in the last 3 years. Staff who have missed their 3 yearly basic safeguarding for other reasons will be asked to attend the basic course at a setting which has a basic safeguarding course scheduled as soon as possible.
The training team will support you in identifying settings that have a basic safeguarding course coming up.
The course is free for maintained schools and academies. There is a charge for 'free' and independent school staff attending.
Attendance must be prioritised Non-attendance without prior cancellation or agreement will be charged if it is not in line with our charging policy.
You must register or login to check availability on all course dates.
**Places are limited to 3 places per school per course. Additional places booked will be cancelled and you will be asked to move to another date.**
