Drugs, Alcohol and Young People: Advanced Training for Professionals

This whole day training is held face-to-face at The Corner Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service office in Sheffield City Centre.

On the course you will gain an overview of the services offered by The Corner and explore what is meant by substance use. You will also be introduced to some theoretical models and gain the skills to facilitate conversations around drug use with young people. You will also develop understanding of the harm-reduction approach and why that is the right approach with children.

The afternoon will focus on increasing your professional knowledge of a wide range of different substances, the legal classification of each, how they are taken and how they affect the body, and specific harm reduction advice for each substance.

You must register or login to check availability on all course dates.

If for some reason you are no longer able to attend please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.  You can cancel the booking up to 7 days prior to the course date by logging in to the booking system and clicking on 'My Account' in the top right of the page.
